   The Atlantis hunt ends with Kassandra in the flesh: the Staff handed over, a warning about balance, and a 2,400-year life ending at peace.

4. 04Victoria

   In Minerva's trials the Staff answers Layla's anger before her intent — and her best friend dies by her hand. The Staff keeps score.

5. 05The dying magnetosphere

   Desmond's 2012 shield is bending the planet's field out of true. An anonymous tip points to a Viking grave in New England — and Norway under it.

6. 06Yggdrasil

   Layla enters the Isu machine, fixes the math — and meets the sender: Basim, who rides her session out of the Grey and takes the Staff from her body.

7. 07The Reader

   Dying, Layla joins the consciousness in the Grey that reads timelines to avert catastrophes. He never says he's Desmond. He doesn't have to.

8. 08A god at the door

   Basim — Loki, rejuvenated, Aletheia at his ear — spares Sigma Team's Berg the dignity of mattering, then asks to meet the Mentor. To be continued.
