Alexandrian, Greek-educated and Cleopatra's earliest blade, Aya fought the Order of the Ancients from the political end while her husband Bayek hunted its masks — until the queen they both served traded her protectors away at the moment of victory. The betrayal clarified her: where Bayek's creed grew from grief, Aya's grew from the understanding that thrones themselves are the disease. She killed Septimius, stood among the daggers around Caesar on the Ides of March, and left her name in Egypt with her marriage, sailing for Rome to build the Hidden Ones' western bureau as Amunet — the woman the Renaissance Brotherhood would sculpt beside Altaïr in its sanctuary.
