Achilles Davenport

The broken Mentor — two Brotherhoods, one homestead

The Brotherhood

Mentor of the Colonial Brotherhood in its brief golden age, Achilles built an order strong enough to frighten the Templars into their greatest counterstroke — and lost all of it: his protégé Shay to defection, his ranks to the purge, his son to smallpox, his leg to Haytham's pistol, his commission to Templar mercy that was crueler than execution. The bitter hermit of the Davenport Homestead spent fifteen years refusing to be found until a half-Mohawk teenager wore him down. His second act — training Connor, hard and honest about the cost — is the series' best portrait of teaching as penance.
