Roshan

A former slave of the Turkic frontier who cut her way to freedom and mastery, Roshan bint-La'Ahad ran the Hidden Ones' western training with a veteran's economy: no mysticism, no promises, tenets as tools. She pulled Basim out of Anbar's wreckage, shaped the street thief into the bureau's finest graduate, and watched the thing she couldn't train out of him — the hunger, the jinni — pull him toward the sealed chamber under Alamut. Her final order, leave it closed, was the Creed's whole wisdom in three words; his disobedience was the era's whole plot.
